The
new collection of yarns for Autumn Winter 2014/15 are influenced
largely by simplicity and a quiet modernity.
Yarns are voluminous, fluffy, hairy, felted or brushed but all
are weightless in character.
Shetland melanges and rustic tweeds, mixing with heavily textured
yarns add a hand crafted feel.
Autumnal colours of warm neutral shades, camel, burned and dense
chocolate.
Grey is always present ranging from pale icy cold melanges to
dark gunmetal.
Brights colours are lively and enriched by contrasting with
winter white and anthracite grey.

WILDERNESS
•
...is inspired by wide open, dramatic and wild landscapes and
the colours found within.
•
A Scottish infl uence is prevalent throughout with plaids, checks
and fairisles being the main pattern inspiration with textured
stitches, houndstooth and herringbone tweeds adding heritage
overtones.
•
Pattern mixes, patchworking, blended striping, mixed and phased
yarn combinations show this largely traditional collection in
a totally new and modern way.
•
Cabling structures such as traditional arans adds the warmth
and cosiness to this rich countryside rambling theme.
•
Colouring is inspired by the autumn countryside. Shades forest
pine, bronzed brown, stormy blue, shadowy deep green, speckled
grey, felted khaki, moss, ochre and yellow chartreuse.
•
Shapes within this womens and mens relaxed hand knit collection
are rounded and generous with drop shoulders and wide easy sleeves
which are worn layer
upon warm layer with more body fi tting garments underneath.
•
The overall softened sculptural silhouette is emphasised by
bulky scarves, wraps
and snoods which cloak the head and shoulders

CRAFTWORK
•
...is inspired by an artisan approach to traditional craft in
a celebration of pattern, colour and texture, heavily influenced
by the Bauhaus and Arts & Crafts movement.
•
Creative knits are rich using jacquard patterning in
textured yarns and embellished to give a hand crafted look.
•
Textured stitches look felted and imperfect and colouring
is broken and blurred.
•
Stripes, soft optical jacquard, colour blocking, ombre
pattern banding, customised embroidery, pixelated fl orals,
modern argyles, bright phasing, float fairisle and oversized
houndstooth all come together into a textural melting pot of
colour.
•
The result is an unique collection of richly decorated
knits that are complimented by bright simple plains, simple
block stripes and neat repeating patterns.
•
Colouring is a collage of lively brights and solid neutrals,
largely infl uenced by the artist’s studio.
•
The key colours Prussian blue, deep yoke yellow, deep
pink, smoked grey, Jaff a orange, leather tan, aquarelle, flame
and Moroccan blue.
•
Creative pieces draw attention to the make - revealing
seams and the ‘wrong’ side of the fabric.

ESSENTIALS
Winter 14/15 sees the ESSENTIALS collection of the magazine
as the showcase for the key shapes of the season but translated
into simple easy to wear styles that compliment the season’s
ESSENTIAL looks.
To balance the two location stories, this season’s ESSENTIALS
collection is completely plain.
The collection comprises mainly plain knits with some textured
and lace stitches with the main emphasis on garment fit and
shape.
One of the key trends for the season is for brushed mohair in
simple shapes and the collection will refl ect this.
This is a clean colour collection with the use of our popular
core regular wool and mohair yarns.
Colouring is neutral using a very soft pale to mid grey colour
palette.
Key shapes are: slouchy sleeve sweaters, compact v necks,
longline cardigans, slim crew neck sweaters, cropped wide
sleeve tops, wrap tops, twin sets, neat crews, vees and cardigans.
